Channel 3’s mission is to: Make gaming (even more) fun, positive, and social for gamers of ALL SKILL LEVELS with community, content, and events.
Community, content, and events… all powered by a completely custom, brand new social platform for gamers.
Let’s talk EVENTS. These take a lot of (precious) time. Gotta plan, prepare, stream, and compile results. We run events every Friday with 3 different games and a multi-stream dashboard. This can be COMPLICATED. It’s harder than it looks!
(Dan Tucker and El Rey makin it look easy tho.)
When it comes to making gaming more fun, positive, and social, well-run events are absolutely magic.
There’s a lot of focus these days on “esports.”
It’s a buzzy term. If a businessperson who is not a gamer uses it, they might be using it too generally. Esports is NOT monetizable gaming. Esports is competitive gaming, usually professional (or collegiate). To be clear, esports are absolutely amazing. This whole vertical is growing like crazy, and rightly so. More people watch Esports than the NBA.
Esports related content has a home on Channel 3. We’re big fans. (If you’re at RLCS in Fort Worth, you probably saw some Channel 3 shirts in the crowd!) We cover Esports news fanatically. And mark my words: within a year there will be a ton of pro Esports players active on Channel 3.
The Esports segment is large. There’s a ton of money involved. But it’s only a piece of a much bigger gaming pie.
Gaming is special. Anyone can pick up the sticks and have an amazing time. You don’t have to be elite to experience the thrill of leveling up. Leveling up from 1 to 2 feels just as good as going from 99 to 100.
That’s the spirit we want to amplify on Channel 3. That’s why events are so important to the mission.
Every Friday we host pro-casted events in all sorts of games.
Winners get extra XP and a special tagline:
But first eliminated also get extra XP and a special tagline:
The First Eliminated tagline is more highly coveted than the S1 Event Winner!
Lately the lineup has been: Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys.
Competitive Fall Guys????
Oh yes, competitive Fall Guys. Check out the ending of last Friday’s event, as seen on stream at the 42:50 mark:
In the last moment, El Rey missed a jump and lost his tail! NOOOOOO. El Rey was almost certainly dressed like this by the way:
He’s Fall Guys through and through.
After the tough loss, he posted this on Channel 3:
What a good sport comin in with the GGs! This is what it’s all about. The thrill of competitive gaming, for a bunch of casual gamers on a Friday night playing Fall Guys. How fun is this?
But wait, just imagine what the reaction was for whoever swooped in and got first at the very last second.
Guess what, I know what that reaction was like because I WAS THERE. IT HAPPENED IN MY HOUSE. It was my son’s friend. Check out the special moment:
Pandemonium!
This is why we do Channel 3 events. It’s like a Game Genie for your gaming entertainment experience. These kids (and I) will never forget this.
Channel 3’s mission is to: Make gaming (even more) fun, positive, and social for gamers of ALL SKILL LEVELS with community, content, and events.
This short video is confirmation we’re on the right path. Small scale for now. But just you wait.
The next event was Rocket League. I lost in the first round. But I was still so excited because I unlocked a special tagline.
See you all out there in tonight’s events. It’s Week 6. It’s gonna be magic.
Channel 3 is the world’s newest social media platform for gamers. It’s currently invite-only alpha. Want to join? Email joel@channel3.gg.
I've got all 3 downloaded and will be trying to compete tonight. Considering I've never played any of these games, it should make for a good time!
